Book #2 is here!

Mercy's Face is available now either through me or through the usual online book sellers. I'm proud to say that Ben's Western Wear in Cotulla also carries my books, which fit so well with the type of store it is.

Mercy's Face has some of the same characters as Grace Falling Like Rain, but there's a different kind of tension between the two main characters than the first book. The story deals with some tough issues, too, and without giving anything away, it offers a different perspective than what is usually found in books today.

I love this book and the changes and growth that occur in the lives of the characters-- especially the female protagonist. I can't wait for you to discover how dusting powder plays a role in the story, as well as the double meaning of the title, too.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much, Vesta!! It's so encouraging to hear from readers. Did you read the first or second book? If it's the first one, Grace Falling Like Rain, then ask your library if they have the second one, Mercy's Face. It's been out for a couple of months, and I've had really good response to it, too. I'm almost halfway through book #3 in the series, Torn Asunder, which pulls in Julia's original kidnapping experiences and a more expanded story about Faith and her family in 1883. Happy reading!!

Hi Heather!
Hope everything's going well for you in East Texas. Miss seeing you, too, each week. Send me your email so we can keep in touch. I have a whole batch of new faces and names to learn on campus-- teachers and students. It's going to be a good year, in spite of the growing pains.
Hope you enjoy book #2.

I read "Grace Falling Like Rain" and fell in love with it. I love clean descent books from Texas writers. When I found out that there was going to be a 2nd book, I could'nt wait to go to the library. Instead I went on line and ordered both of them. Now I wait for the 3rd. I am going to share them with my daughter n law. My favorite kind of books are those dated in the 1800's, especially the cowboy and indians sagas. Thanks again! Linda, San Saba,Tx.

Thank you, Linda! I like reading this type of book, too. I love historical novels and really enjoyed the research I had to do to write about this era in Texas. And thank you so much for purchasing the books. A number of readers have told me they bought the books as gifts to friends, as well as to pick up and read again and again. Makes my day to hear from readers!! Let me know what you thought of Mercy's Face, too. The third book should be available in the Spring.
